Should she be allowed to keep her child until she finishes her sentence if it’s under two years?
Your starting few days and really your entire stay in federal prison will be made entirely more bearable if you adhere to top three principles of prisoner manner. Following these rules will help to positively shape your status, which will follow you in your sentence.

1. Don’t Swine:

If you and other prisoner have a problem, you settle it including yourself. You don’t go to the co. You do not go to the analyst or Unit administrator. If you see something going on that should not be, maintain it to yourself. It’s none of your business. You are an prisoner, not a renege.

The only exclusion to this instruction that I can think of is if you authentically feel that your life is in hazard. In this matter, the CO will have you changed to the hovel. An inquiry will follow. If you are fortunate you will be transfer to another institution. If you are not, the other prisoner will be transfer or it will be selected that there does not exist a adequate menace. In both situation you will be placed back in general inhabitants where you will incessantly be labeled a swine.

2. Do Your Own Business

You’ll often hear prisoners refer to the term, “Do your own time”. This is the equal to “Do your own business” and is completely paramount to avoiding concern. In many ways, federal prison is like school. A Big group of people expend a lot of time to organized every day for years. Unavoidably this leads to claims, opinion, and gossip.

Don’t get complicated. Aside from the fact that most of the information that floats around is deliberately false or greatly overstated if you choose to pass chat along you run the very real risk of being challenge by the prisoner in question or of finding yourself in the middle of a heated argument. Avoid the hassle and steer clear of chat and claims. Further, due to the utter lack of security, you will constantly hear the conversations of other prisoners. Do not make an active attempt to listen. Do not respond to what is being said. If you can’t help but to listen, make sure it is not obvious that you are doing so.

3. Never get too at Ease:

Believe it or not it will be hard to believe your starting few days of month, eventually you will get to know a number of other prisoners, you will fall into a regular routine and you will get used to your new home. federal prison life will begin to seem quite normal. This is good. But never let yourself get too Ease. By this I mean, never let your guard down. Always remember where you are. Don’t say too much. Don’t ask too much. Don’t call undue attention to yourself.

In many ways, prison mirrors mainstream society. Over time, certain rules, spoken and unspoken have developed. These rules serve to dictate acceptable inmate behavior and maintain order. Those who disregard the rules are ostracized or confronted by members of the community.

On the heels of Doogie Howser, M.D. and How I Met Your Mother star, Neil Patrick Harris’ confident declaration of his sexual orientation, Prison Break’s hottest hunk has been besieged by persistent rumors regarding his own sexual preference. Reports have cropped up furiously that Wentworth Miller, who plays the brilliant Michael Scofield on the hit series, has been secretly dating Luke McFarlane from Brothers & Sisters. McFarlane, who was a recurring character on Brothers & Sisters, as the boyfriend of Matthew Rhys’ character, Kevin Walker, had previously briefly dated Grey’s Anatomy’s T.R. Knight, who has been embroiled in a long-running media circus with recently dismissed co-star, Isaiah Washington.

Prison Break’s Miller has been hounded by the nasty gay speculations since he shot to fame as a result of the phenomenal success of his show. He is now a favorite target of the gay question in much the same fashion as former American Idol runner up, Clay Aiken.

Sources for the celebrity gossip website, TMZ.com, say that Miller has been going out with McFarlane secretly for six months now and that they have been very discreet and guarded about their relationship because Miller is not out of the closet. Some reports even claim that the two actors are already planning on moving in together. “They spend a lot of time at each other’s houses. Wentworth has been pretty reclusive since he’s become famous and he’s been even more of a shut-in since he started dating Luke,” the TMZ mole said.

Miller is currently tied up with production for the third season of Prison Break but reports claim that Fox, which is the show’s home network, is struggling with Miller’s increased media shyness and elusiveness. A Fox insider told PerezHilton.com that “Wentworth’s become very difficult to work with. He’s been cutting back immensely on the amount of press he’s doing for Prison Break. He’s very nervous about reporters asking him if he’s gay.”

Thailand is a well known destination for many unusual attractions. The Corrections Museum in Bangkok is one of the many atypical destinations, which is rich in historical value. The Corrections Museum, located in Maha Chai Road preserves gruesome facets of Thai prison history.

The museum location was the site of the Bangkok maximum security prison that was built under the sovereignty of King Rama V in 1890. The government decided to demolish the prison in 1987. In order to establish the prison museum in 1939, three blocks, two watchtowers, a cellblock, and a side of the prison were preserved. The museum is famous for showcasing brutalism of prison life of offenders in that time.

As visitors explore the museum exhibits, the former penal system which was based on vengeance and severe punishments is well elaborated. The collections of life-sized sculptures that portray painful acts of frightening corporal punishments are successful in effortlessly convincing the museum visitors of the fearsome consequences of crimes and misbehavior of yesteryear.

The museum visits begin by exhibiting several portraits of the former prison and its demolition. There is also a scaled replica of the former prison compound and the museum with the public park. The upper stories of the museum display the many processes of punishing prisoners. The ones that expose the beheading of prisoners and other execution methods are certain to disturb the viewers emotionally, as they give incredibly horrible impressions of the tormented prisoners and the wrathful prison guards.

After the period of decapitation, where the sword was the primary weapon used, shooting became the standard method of execution. The replicas of execution demonstrate the criminals being tied behind a screen and the executioner shooting the heads with a rifle placed on a stand on the other side of the screen.

The other blocks of the museum are a pleasant release from the grisly execution chambers. These exhibit furniture and handicraft which were used in the prison, some which were made by the prisoners.

A public park is also located in the museum area using the remaining land of the former prison. The park is now called the “Romanni Nart” and its pleasance undoes the emotional ordeal caused by the museum demonstrations.

The museum requires prior appointments made for visits, from Monday to Saturday. Moreover the museum is located in an area where many outstanding accommodation facilities are available. For instance prominent Bangkok Serviced Apartments such as Somerset Amar Garden are a noteworthy example of providers of both long and short stay facilities in a perfectly harmonized atmosphere.

The prison systems of the United States are rest homes for most of their inmates. They provide good food and entertainment. Television sets and weight lifting gyms keep inmates busy and seldom are there any complaints. Most inmates meet others who come from similar backgrounds and share common interests. There are very few cases of documented depression. This fact alone shows how well adapted inmates are to the prison environment. Prison riots are caused by battles between gangs that want control of the trade in contraband. They have no quarrel with prison authorities that keep them content with most needed basics. New prison guards are shocked to see big happy families that seldom cause problems. This is the general picture of a prison system that is one of the most humane in the world.

There is a certain type of individual that doesn’t fit into the prison population .He is a loner that hates prison life and the gang culture of its inmates. To him going to prison is going to hell. His sentence is one of the cruelest punishment that one human can give to another. But lawbreakers have to be dealt with and judges have no alternative but to send them to prison.

The French Foreign Legion was made up of men that rather then going to prison agreed to enlist in its army. They were then shipped to the colonies to protect French possessions. Most of them never returned to France. They started a new life and raised families. Some died in battle. Very few returned to a life of crime. They were high spirited men that chose freedom rather than the security of a French prison.

The Legionnaire’s Code of Honor

1. Legionnaire, you are a volunteer serving France with “Honor and Fidelity”.

2. Every legionnaire is your brother-in-arms, regardless of his nationality, race, or religion. You will demonstrate this by strict solidarity which must always unite members of the same family.

3. Respect of traditions, devotion to your leaders, discipline and comradeship are your strengths, courage and loyalty your virtues.

4. Proud of your status as legionnaire, you display this in your uniform, which is always impeccable, your behavior always dignified but modest, your living quarters always clean.

5. An elite soldier, you will train rigorously, you will maintain your weapon as your most precious possession, and are constantly concerned with your physical form.

6. A mission is sacred; you will carry it out until the end respecting laws, customs of war, international conventions and, if necessary, at the risk of your life. In combat, you will act without passion and without hate, you will respect the vanquished enemy, you will never abandon your dead or wounded, nor surrender your arms.

.

We would be a more humane society if we followed the example of the French and gave all our convicted felons a chance to serve in the Foreign Legion as an alternative to prison. It would help our country and give those who want to avoid prison life a chance to redeem themselves. For the true criminals that prefer the lifestyle of prison life let them complete their sentence. melpol

I sure hope not that would be one more slap in the face to that dear child that her mother/murderer would be able to attend her being laid to rest properly
Several times, using his skill of disguise, dressed in a prison guards uniform utilized two ladders carried across the yard and when a spot light hit him he yelled out, “It’s ok” and continued his escape without incident. Later, Sutton attributed the famous quote of “That’s Where The Money Is” to an inventive reporter embellishing a story. It was surmised that he had stolen around $2,000,000 over his career. Later on accountants would use this theory to focus on high cost areas as a target for savings. It was called the “Willie Sutton Rule” following “where the money is” as its basis. While serving a long prison term after his capture in 1952 and was serving a 105 sentence. With failing health, he was released in 1969 from Attica State Prison and died November 2, 1980 at age 79 in Spring Hill, Florida. His legacy lives on.

Today, Willie Sutton, just arriving fresh out of the time machine, could be sitting in his home perhaps in his underwear with a wry smile that this new game was really better than any bank job. With hands spread between the keyboard and mouse with a bent on “Philsing” and stealing as much money as possible online. A cold one would be close by with a tasty snack. These “bank teller windows” are open 365 days 24 hours a day, their motto might be “We never close”. No more casing future jobs, no need for cleaver disguises, no need to carry a gun, no get away car, no threat of shoot outs, no following opening and closing times of the bank, all that is needed is an Internet connection and a computer. What a country!

There are many modern day “Willie Suttons” out there trying to separate citizens from their hard earned money. It is likewise a “worldwide robbery in progress” from the cafés from New Deli, from the depths of Asia or from anywhere in the world where anyone in cyberspace is a potential target for being fleeced of their money. Scams and consumer alerts go from low tech to major firewall crashing and intervention.

From Dumpster diving looking for your personal information to all sorts of scams. Identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes in the U.S. today. The con artists are skilled at putting together believable scripts and stories that will play well to the unsuspecting pigeon. The mark wakes up only after their bank accounts have been cleaned out or their credit cards maxed out.

The Identity Theft Resource Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting citizens in fighting scams. Some of the scams are summarized below:

Job Scams where you are asked to provide personal information including dates of birth and Social Security numbers. Some enterprising cons posted employment ads to get applicants to share personal information that can be exploited. No job exists-the con is on.

Calls from credit card “Representatives” to verify unusual purchases and to verify your card by sharing the three-digit number code on the back of the card. This conversation follows after a lengthy discussion on avoiding credit card scam. It is the scam. They already have your credit card number from other sources, only now they need the additional key to gate of your money.

“Phisher” scams involving using web page similar to your financial institution or consumer retail store looking (logos and all) for passwords and personal information with Social Security numbers. This could be E-Bay, Best Buys, Discover, AOL, MSN, Earthlink, PayPal, and Bank of America, Providian and other banks such as Wells Fargo.

Sign In Rosters at schools and such where you list your Social Security and other personal information that can be ripped off by any eyeball noting the information.

The famous Nigerian scam asking you to help them move money out of the country with a big reward to the facilitator. This total fraud has fleeced many citizens of their door.

The Canadian/Netherlands Lottery touting that hey “YOU WON”. The new Spanish Lottery is now hot as well. Naturally, you will be asked to post some cash as good faith.

Promises of “Free Credit Reports” can be a scam with bills and such showing up later OR your information is utilized for a fleece job.

Offers of a FREE GIFT will usually lead to costing you as you share your information.

E mailing and forwarding Chain Letters helps the con collect your friends and contacts e-mail addresses to fleece them as well.

Offers to buy a CD on skip tracing someone anywhere is utilized to gather your credit card information that can be later used to rip you off.

Questionnaires are a good device to gather personal information for “Bad Purposes” where Chat rooms for friends is a slick method to gather information on citizens. Won’t you be my “friend”?

Persons in acting as store security scams to catch a bad employee all the while noting the personal information of the target of identity theft.

Charities on the phone, who are skilled at raising money, call and prey on the good nature of the donors. Many times the charities get like 5% or less of monies collected plus your information is used to commit a later Fraud. A “Do Not Call Verification” representative calls to get verify personal information. This is done online or by mail, if ever.

A person gets a call from a “clerk” of the court regarding jury duty while verifying personal information. Again this is a scam. Normally, jury duty is noted by mail.

Additional scams are referred to as:

Disaster relief, FTC Warning Registry, IRS Scam, “Hospital Personnel”, Pay Pal Verification-Phony, Credit Reporting Agencies ploy, Get Out Of Debt e-mail, and any new wrinkle with larceny in the hearts of the perpetrators of Identify Theft Scam.

When conducting online business one must be very careful with personal and private information that can be turned around and used to the perpetrator’s advantage to screw the consumer. It is not limited to just the U.S. as mentioned, it is now a worldwide effort to pull a scam. With the U.S. being heavily wired on the Internet with good financial depth consumers’ are a focused target for exploitation.

Willie Sutton today would have a huge callous on his mouse hand with all the clicks and spaming necessary to separate the mark from their money. The mantra of “That’s where the money is” has shifted to a new paradigm with a focus on identify theft through low tech and high tech means to rob people of their money by various means. The new Willie Suttons of the world is dedicated to this venture and a consumer must be very careful in throwing around personal information. The difference in bank robberies of the past by “Slick Willie” is that in this case consumers credit histories can be destroyed and ruptured requiring years to recover. Families can be destroyed, divorces happen, bankruptcy can ensue and the dark hole of identify theft is entered. It is a destructive force in our country. Better safe guards and protections are needed to solve this sometimes-heartbreaking crime. Breaking through firewalls and setting up shop on personal computers to steal passwords and establish a base to “spam the scam” to other unsuspecting consumers. Awareness and good set of radar antennae are a good first line of defense. It it’s too good to be true…you already know.

“Thanks for doing this for my father, He deserves it.”

Perhaps the greatest testament to a father’s impact is for his own children to recognize, later in life, that he is deserving of special recognition.

When Carmine Bermudez, 19, and Al Bermudez, Jr., 27 look at their father, Al Bermudez Pereira, they see a man who always cared deeply for others and wished to see all young men grow into responsible fathers, husbands and citizens.

As a correction officer working at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison in New York (known for housing violent criminals) that Bermudez learned the lessons that made him an exceptional father and leader: “Young people really don’t mind discipline. It actually gives them a sense of security and a firm foundation of personal strength and integrity,” he says.

This philosophy became the foundation for this prison guard to raise his own sons and influence those around him.

Understanding without excuses

Al Bermudez, Sr., came to Florida to visit relatives and fell in love with the warm weather and the rural beauty of the outskirts of Sanford, where he still lives. It was a stark contrast to the urban environment where he was born and raised in New York.

Bermudez’s experiences as a youth in Brooklyn fostered his interest in law enforcement. It was at Sing Sing that he realized the impact that one man can have on the lives of others–and the multiplying affect kindness and cruelty have on humanity.

“I had many sits downs and held endless conversations with young people incarcerated, some serving 10 to 100 years in prison,” Bermudez says today. “Many blamed their unfortunate circumstances on absent parents, single parents working long hour days, no supervision and homes without fathers.”

In listening to them without excusing their choices, Bermudez found the inspiration to instill discipline and self-reliance in his own sons. Having “seen young men in prison go astray, he made it clear that my brother and I would not,” says Al Bermudez, Jr. His brother, Carmine, agrees, and says that, although “his odds were more against him,” his father instilled in his sons the importance of being honest and patient so that they might become leaders, not followers.

As a father, Bermudez himself was this kind of leader. As Al Bermudez, Jr., says, “a man who never had a father did a great job being one.”

Sing-Sing State State Prison: One Day, One Lifetime

Now that his boys are grown, Bermudez has found a way to continue serving as an example. As the author of Sing-Sing State Prison: One Day, One Lifetime, he shares both the psychological toll and the positive effects of working in such an environment.

Recognizing the level of bravery and professionalism required by those responsible for antisocial inmates, he coveys the impact of the experience.

In essence, the man he is today is the result of the men he knew at Sing Sing. “Prison actually helped me to perfect those imperfections I didn’t know existed within me as a parent,” Bermudez explains. “I couldn’t help but absorb these unfortunate stories and positively implement them in my own personal life.” Yet Bermudez emphasizes that “we can’t save everyone from life’s temptations.”

Maybe not everyone–but this father guided one young man at a time. starting with his own sons.*

I’m just wondering. I have always wanted to know if you need a degree or anything. It seems kind of cool : ]

I heard its like an academy but does it compare to the service basic training and what is the ratio between class time and physical time
