Im interested in applying to be a corrections officer, and after the initial training done to be completed for the job and if I were to have it also would like to go to school also.
Does anyone have experience being a CO and also doing college part or full time please post your experience or if your know of anyone?
I know here corrections officers are required to do 4 day 10hr shifts

I heard that the state of Michigan Correction officers have to go to the Demarse Corrections Academy where they undergo 8 weeks of intensive boot camp like training. Is it really like a boot camp or is it more class room oriented?
