For instance, in regular police there is swat, undercover, narc, meter maids, harbor, etc. Do corrections officers have any special jobs? If so how do you get into that position?

The pay for the customer service job is 11 an hour, the pay for the corrections officer job is 31,000 in Wyoming. I heard the cost of living is kind of high there. What’s better?

Im interested in applying to be a corrections officer, and after the initial training done to be completed for the job and if I were to have it also would like to go to school also.

Does anyone have experience being a CO and also doing college part or full time please post your experience or if your know of anyone?

I know here corrections officers are required to do 4 day 10hr shifts

I’m eligible and i want to know where can i find books to study from?

I want to know how to be a corrections officer

I heard that the state of Michigan Correction officers have to go to the Demarse Corrections Academy where they undergo 8 weeks of intensive boot camp like training. Is it really like a boot camp or is it more class room oriented?

I’ve got a BA in psychology and have 4 years experience working at a detention center and 2 years working as a teacher’s aide in a Special Ed school.

I’m curious as to what type of work those experiences could help me get.

I’ve been clean for a few years but in my early twenties I spent time in a few different drug rehab/mental health facilities. Will this come up in my background check and will it bar me from a career in law enforcement?

I was thinking b/c I know this guy and he talks like being a correction officer is so hard but I dont see what so hard about it not like they r getting guns pull on them or any thing

I am wondering how old you have to be to be a corrections in the New England area, I am 18 yrs old, Thanks
